Helen creates designs which capture the client’s imagination for the potential for their outdoor space, and are strongly rooted to place. Drawing on the context of the site, whether it be the local landscape, materials, plant ecology and architecture, to create a garden which works in harmony with its surroundings.
With a background in Fine Art, and several years in the photographic industry, her designs draw on a deep understanding of spatial composition, texture and colour, combined with a love of naturalistic planting. Her gardens are characterised by their sense of flow and atmosphere.
Sustainability and environmental impact are integral considerations to every design, with materials carefully selected for their suitability for the project, longevity, and carbon footprint. Her planting palettes are also rich in wildlife value, and encourage a connection to nature.
In 2018, Helen re-trained as a garden designer at the London College of Garden Design, graduating with a distinction. She now lives and works in Earlsfield, South West London, designing gardens in London, Surrey and the South East.
She was very pleased to be shortlisted for her project 'Broadstone Holt' in the student category of the 2020 Society of Garden Designers awards.
