Hybrid Landscape Series

In this series light is effectively both the media and subject matter of my work. It simultaneously speaks of a transient moment captured, and is

anexpression of man’s fleeting alteration of the natural environment. My chosen spaces were points in the environment where the manmade

and thenatural intersect.

Through darkroom techniques of overlaying negatives, I wanted to extend this hybridisation into the post-photographic process itself.

Combining negatives from day and night in all three images speaks of a disparity in lengths of moment within a single image. Separately they

are a fragmented form of reality, yet interlocked create a fantasy landscape- a false hybrid of time and place.
